U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Dayton Ohio Murder Suspect in Alabama

Montgomery, AL - U.S. Marshal Pete Tobin is pleased to announce during the morning hours of January 8, 2021, the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) arrested Fugitive Tremayne Burdine on an outstanding warrant from the Montgomery County Municipal Court, Dayton, Ohio for the charge of Murder, Felonious Assault and Tampering with Evidence.

On Nov. 15, 2020, Burdine was formally charged by the court for allegedly shooting his wife on Nov. 14, 2020 with a firearm near the 1100 block of Vernon Drive, Dayton, Ohio. The female victim succumbed to her injuries after the assault. The Dayton Police Department investigated this case involving Burdine; the warrant was then adopted by the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) on Nov. 16, 2020. SOFAST, U.S Marshals investigators with the Great Lakes Regional Task Force in the State of Illinois and GCRFTF in Alabama developed information to believe Burdine fled the State of Ohio. GCRFTF investigators quickly arrested Burdine near the 3000 block of Rosa Parks Ave in Montgomery, Alabama without incident.

Burdine is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office jail in AL awaiting extradition back to Dayton, Ohio.

U.S. Marshals SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the Dayton Police Department, Springfield Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Champaigne County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Prosecutors Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Perry Township Police Department, West Carrollton Police Department, Springboro Police Department, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and the United States Secret Service.
