Burlington, VT - U.S. Marshals and South Burlington police arrested a violent fugitive wanted for multiple felony warrants including illegal possession of a firearm and assault stemming from a shooting in Skowhegan, Maine last year.
Federal and local authorities apprehended Christopher Farrow, 32, in South Burlington Friday evening after Hailey Goetz, 26, of Jericho, lead police on a high-speed chase down Route 7 in South Burlington. Goeltz eventually stopped the vehicle just in front of the Sea-Way car wash. At that time, Goetz and Farrow were ordered out of the car and arrested without further incident.
Farrow was being sought by state and local authorities in both Maine and Connecticut on charges for illegal possession of a firearm, assault in the first degree, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing and reckless conduct. Farrow was also wanted in Connecticut for a parole violation. The bail amounts for the Connecticut and Maine warrants are $250,000 and $100,000 respectively.
Farrow is being held on $75,000 bail while he awaits court proceedings to be extradited back to Connecticut.
Goeltz was cited for eluding a police officer. She was released and will appear before a judge at a later date.
The apprehension is another fine example of how cooperation between Local and Federal authorities results in safer communities.
