Tucson, AZ - A New Jersey murder suspect was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Tucson, Arizona today. Gabriel B. Vilorio-Jaquez, 33, was wanted in the October 29th shooting that resulted in the two victims being tragically killed.
“The arrest of Gabriel Vilorio-Jaquea is a good example of federal and local law enforcement agencies working together across state lines to get a dangerous person in to custody," said United States Marshal David Gonzales. “This case and arrest affirm the value of the U.S. Marshals fugitive task forces throughout the country."
On Nov. 3, 2021, an arrest warrant was issued in Trenton, New Jersey for Vilorio-Jaquez who was accused of committing two counts of first-degree murder. It is alleged that Vilorio-Jaquez knew one of the victims due to renting a residence from him. At some point a dispute broke out between Vilorio-Jaquez and his two victims, resulting in Vilorio-Jaquez shooting and killing them both.
Mercer County law enforcement officers requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, with locating and apprehending Vilorio-Jaquez. Deputy U.S. Marshals in New Jersey developed information that Vilorio-Jaquez fled New Jersey shortly after the shooting and could be in Tucson, AZ.
In the early morning of Nov. 17, 2021, members from the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Tucson, established surveillance at Ridgeline Apartments, located at 3980 W Linda Vista Blvd in Northwest Tucson, based on information provided by NY/NJ RFTF. After several hours of covert surveillance, Vilorio-Jaquez was identified leaving an apartment on foot to walk his dog. Task Force members developed a plan and waited for the opportunity to safely execute the arrest. At approximately 12:00 pm, officers contacted Vilorio-Jaquez and were able to take him into custody without incident.
Vilorio-Jaquez is currently in custody at the Pima County Jail awaiting extradition back to Trenton, New Jersey to face his charges.
