Memphis, TN - U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the capture of Quenten Cortez Taylor, on two counts of Felony Murder charges and three counts of Aggravated Assault that occurred in Quitman County, Mississippi.
On Oct. 24, 2021, it is alleged that Taylor was involved in a shooting that left two dead and three injured outside the Marie Lyles Meadows Apartments in Crenshaw, Mississippi. The Quitman County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Taylor.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) out of North Mississippi adopted this case for investigation. Working in conjunction with the GCRFTF, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) out of Memphis initiated an investigation to apprehend Taylor.
This morning, the TRVFTF developed information that Taylor was in the Memphis area. The TRVFTF tracked down and arrested Taylor at an apartment complex off Garden Grove Circle in Memphis. Deputies knocked and announced their presence at the door, evacuated the apartment, and talked Taylor into surrendering without incident.
U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service will always look to find the most safe and effective outcome when apprehending dangerous fugitives."
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
