Concord, NH - The U.S. Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force is extremely happy to announce the arrest of another “Fugitive of the Week" in Cedar Key, Florida.
Marshall James Dimick, 31 years-of-age, was last known to be in the upper valley are of New Hampshire when he became a fugitive. Dimick was wanted on an arrest warrant issued on March 30, 2021, by the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH. This warrant alleged the offenses of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
As part of this investigation, Mr. Dimick had been featured as the “Fugitive of the Week" on May 12, 2021. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, The Rochester & Lebanon Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week" was also to be distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.
After Mr. Dimickn had been featured as the “Fugitive of the Week," several tips were received pointing to locations along the New Hampshire and Vermont border. Unfortunately, Dimick fled this area prior to be located. It wasn’t until recently that new tips were received pointing to a relative’s home in Cedar Key, Florida. This information was sent to our counterparts in the U.S. Marshals Office in Gainesville, FL. Based on the information from the received tips, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force went to Cedar Key, FL this morning, where Mr. Dimick was located and arrested without incident. Dimick was transported to the Levy County Jail, where he will be held as a US Marshal’s prisoner pending his initial court appearance at the U.S. District Court in Gainesville, FL pending his return to New Hampshire to face these very serious federal charges.
U.S. Marshal, Nick Willard said, “Once again, we see that the ‘Fugitive of the Week’ program has an extensive reach." Willard continued, “Fugitives can flee across state lines, or across the country and we still receive tips that lead to the arrest of these fugitives that truly believe that they can run away from their legal issues."
Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
