Concord, NH - The U.S. Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force is very happy to announce the second arrest of a “Fugitive of the Week" in Florida in as many weeks.
Joseph Nathaniel Davis, 36 years-of-age, was last known to be living in the Manchester, NH area when he became a fugitive. Davis was wanted on a federal arrest warrant issued on Oct. 29, 2021, by the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH. This warrant alleges that Davis was in violation of his conditions of supervised release. Mr. Davis had been convicted and sentenced in federal court of being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2017. Davis was sentenced to 50 months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons followed by a 3-year period of supervised release.
As part of this investigation, Mr. Davis had been featured as the “Fugitive of the Week" on December 8, 2021. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, The Rochester & Lebanon Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of over 500 fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week" was also to be distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.
After Davis had been featured as the “Fugitive of the Week," several tips were received from the public as well as from members of law enforcement. This information was pointing to locations in the Cape Coral area of Florida and was sent to our counterparts in the U.S. Marshals Office in Florida. Based on the tips received, members of the US Marshals Service were able locate and arrest Davis without incident on December 17th at a residence in the 1200 block of NW 24th Place in Cape Coral. Davis was transported to the Lee County Jail, where he is being held as a US Marshal’s prisoner pending his initial court appearance at the U.S. District Court in Fort Myers pending his return to New Hampshire to face his supervised release violations.
Additionally, located at the scene of arrest was Davis’ girlfriend, Zika Kanani, 29 years-of-age, also originally from Manchester, NH. Kanai was being sought on an arrest warrant obtained by the Manchester Police Department alleging falsifying physical evidence. This warrant was issued after Kanani’s alleged recent role as a getaway driver during a shooting in Manchester, NH. Kanani was arrested on this warrant and charged as a fugitive from justice in Florida based on the outstanding NH Warrant. Kanani will be seen in a local court in Florida, where it will be decided if she is ordered detained and returned to the State of New Hampshire to face these serious charges.

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2020). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
