Scranton, PA - Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Jerome Kasey, a 41-year-old man, from Baltimore, Maryland.
On Nov. 16, 2021, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police investigated a homicide at the intersection of Swatara and Evergreen Streets. And, on November 19th, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Kasey with homicide and firearms offenses. Kasey could not be found, and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.
In late December of 2021, the Fugitive Task Force learned that Kasey was traveling with James Williams - a 28-year-old-man wanted for absconding from Dauphin County Probation. Further, the task force learned that both men would be found in Lubbock, Texas.
Today at about 1 p.m., members of the fugitive task force arrested Kasey and Williams in the 2600 block of East Baylor Street, Lubbock, Texas, without incident. They were turned over to the Lubbock Police Department for booking and arraignment.
United States Marshal Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service is the nation’s primary fugitive investigative agency and arrests more than 4,000 alleged murderers each year. We add Jerome Kasey’s name to that list and by doing so we are making our communities safer."
The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 21 state, county, and local police agencies; including the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office, the Swatara Township Police Department, the Derry Township Police Department, and the Lower Paxton Township Police Department - all of whom participated in this investigation.
