Memphis, TN - U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the capture of Jarquez Mallory on First Degree Murder charges. Mallory is a suspect from a homicide that occurred at a carwash off North Hollywood Street on Aug. 3, 2021.

It is alleged that Mallory was involved in a shooting that took the life of 17-year-old Braylon Murray. An arrest warrant was issued out of Shelby County for Mallory.

On November 4, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) adopted the case out of Shelby County for investigation. Marshals later obtained information that Mallory was in the Atlanta area.

On Thursday, Feb. 03, 2022, the TRVFTF requested the assistance from the U.S Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) in apprehending Mallory based on that information. The SERFTF arrested Mallory at a hotel in Stockbridge, Georgia outside of Atlanta early this morning.

“The U.S. Marshals Service strives to work seamlessly with our counterparts throughout the country to bring violent fugitives to justice," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. “This arrest should serve notice to fugitives that running may delay your capture but not prevent it."

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
