Kansas City, MO - United States Marshal Scott Seeling announced today an increase in reward money for information leading to the capture of a person wanted for homicide.
KaShawn Nicole Roper is wanted by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Jazmyn Henrion. A second person was also shot in the incident but survived their injuries. KCPD investigated the shooting incident that occurred near 68th and Cleveland Avenue on Aug. 23, 2020. It is alleged that Roper fired a gun into an occupied vehicle striking the two victims. The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office charged Roper on Sept. 10, 2020 with Murder 2nd Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. She has a history of assaultive behavior and has spent time in prison in the state of Missouri. If encountered, she may be armed.
Roper is aware that she is wanted and is actively eluding law enforcement. She has relatives and associates in multiple states to include Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, South Dakota and Texas who may be assisting her. She is a black female, 46 years old, 5’5" tall, 120 to 130 pounds with a slender build. Roper has at least two gold teeth and numerous tattoos to include: Chinese style lettering on her neck, a panther on her left calf, the word “Kenneth" in large letters on her left arm from her bicep to wrist, a rose on her chest, chain bracelet on her right ankle, a playboy bunny on her right wrist. She has previously worked as a nail technician and a store clerk. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward. The U.S. Marshals Service has increased the reward up to $5,000 for information that leads directly to her arrest. To claim the reward, information must be reported directly to the Marshals Service. The U.S. Marshals Midwest Violent Fugitive Task Force-Kansas City Division, operates in conjunction with members of the Kansas City, Independence and St. Joseph Missouri Police Departments, Jackson, Cass, Clay and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Offices, Missouri State Highway Patrol and other federal law enforcement partners.
