Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement in response to CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner’s announcement that she plans to leave the agency next month:

"I thank Administrator Tavenner for her public service and her leadership, which have left an indelible mark on the history of our nation by successfully implementing the Affordable Care Act and providing critical healthcare to millions of Americans. I look forward to working with Acting Administrator Slavitt to continue this and other important tasks."
