WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC), Ranking Member of the Government Operations Subcommittee, raised serious concerns about Chairman Cummings’s decision to seek information and material unrelated to the Committee’s oversight of the federal government.
Jordan and Meadows sent two letters to Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The first letter asks why Chairman Cummings chose to use Committee resources to investigate a news organization’s editorial decision. The second letter seeks to understand Chairman Cummings’s decision to seek ten years of documents relating to the President’s personal finances from accounting firm Mazars USA.
Jordan and Meadows also wrote separately to Mazars USA expressing concerns with the Chairman’s inquiry.
