Oversight Committee to Hold Series of Hearings on Trump Administration’s Attack on Children

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform on Jan. 30, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

Today, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, along with the Chairmen of the Subcommittees on Government Operations, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Economic and Consumer Policy, and Environment, announced that four Subcommittees will hold an in-depth, two-day series of hearings to examine the negative effects of regulations proposed by the Trump Administration relating to children’s poverty, housing, hunger, and health.

Chairwoman Maloney and Subcommittee Chairmen Gerry Connolly, Jamie Raskin, Raja Krishnamoorthi, and Harley Rouda issued the following statement:

“The Trump Administration is systematically gutting key programs and protections that are critical to ensure our children’s welfare. This unique and extensive series of hearings will assess the detrimental impact of the Administration’s regulatory actions on child poverty, housing, hunger, and health."

All of the hearings will take place in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.
