WASHINGTON-House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.) issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of the Inspector General report exonerating former Secretary Elaine Chao of any wrongdoing:
“Today’s report makes clear the Democrats’ partisan attacks launched against former Secretary Chao are baseless. The Inspector General concluded Secretary Chao’s meetings were routine and she followed ethics and financial disclosure rules. Democrats should abandon their unproductive and divisive obsession with attacking Trump Administration officials and instead focus on doing work that actually benefits the American people."
