Oversight Committee Sends Several Good Government Bills to House Floor

Washington D.C. -Today, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, issued the following statement after the Committee voted favorably to send several good government bills to the House Floor:

“I am so proud of the work that the Committee accomplished today," said Chairwoman Maloney. “In addition to passing critical legislation that will improve the Postal Service, the Committee passed several bipartisan bills that will make the government more accountable and transparent. While we do not always agree, today’s markup proves that there are things that we can do together to help better serve the American people."

During today’s business meeting, the Committee successfully passed the following bills introduced by Committee Members, as amended:

* H.R. 1930, the Federal Advisory Committee Transparency Act;

* H.R. 2485, the Access to Congressionally Mandated Reports Act;

* H.R. 2681, the Integrity Committee Transparency Act; and

* H.R. 978, the Chai Suthammanont Remembrance Act.

The Committee also passed the Postal Service Reform Act and the Postal Service Improvement Act, as amended.
