Lowery: Five men sentenced for 'slew of senseless violent crimes' with Tri City Bombers racketeering conspiracy

Five men have received significant sentences for their roles in the Tri City Bombers racketeering conspiracy, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

According to a March 14 news release, the five men pleaded guilty to Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act conspiracy, U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery said.

“With the pleas today, these five people have admitted their involvement in a slew of senseless violent crimes, including murders committed in furtherance of the TCB criminal enterprise,” Lowery said. “We and our federal and state law enforcement partners will continue our unrelenting efforts to eradicate gang violence in the district and hold accountable all those who threaten the safety and well-being of our citizens.”

Ramon De La Cerda, 48; Jose Rolando Gonzalez, 43; Juan Alberto Mendez, 49; Salomon Robles, 35; and Margil Reyna, 38, all admitted their roles in the Tri City Bombers racketeering conspiracy. U.S. District Judge Sim Lake sentenced each man to 30 years in federal prison earlier this month.

“Members of our Rio Grande Valley community deserve to live free of threats from criminal organizations,” FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Jason Hudson said. “The FBI thanks our partners on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force for their collective efforts to keep members of this organization off the streets.”

So far, 35 men have been convicted in connection with the Tri City Bombers racketeering conspiracy.
