The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a virtual public board meeting April 19 to consider the draft final report on a fatal bus crash in California.
On Feb. 22, 2020, at about 10:23 a.m. Pacific standard time, in Pala Mesa, California, a 30-passenger bus operated by Executive Lines, Inc., left the southbound lanes of Interstate 15, departed the roadway, rolled and came to rest on its roof. As a result of the crash, three of the 20 passengers on board died, 12 were seriously injured, and five passengers and the driver received minor injuries.
During the meeting, the NTSB members will vote on investigators' findings and recommendations as well as any changes to the draft report.
In keeping with established federal and local social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, while also ensuring the NTSB's compliance with the Government in the Sunshine Act, the board meeting for this event will be webcast to the public, with the board members and investigative staff meeting virtually. There will be no physical gathering to facilitate the board meeting.
