WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), ranking member on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement urging President Trump’s FDA Nominee, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, to provide answers to follow-up questions Senators submitted following his nomination hearing, held April 5th.
“With just days until Senators are expected to vote on his nomination Dr. Gottlieb and the Administration have yet to respond to a single question Senators asked following Dr. Gottlieb’s hearing, during which serious concerns about his vision for the FDA and his ability to avoid conflicts of interest as Commissioner were only underscored. Senators should not be expected to vote on his nomination until they have received thorough responses to their questions for the record."
