The following press release was published by the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on Aug. 16, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement on news that the Trump Administration has chosen to make payments this month intended to help lower health care costs for families, but has still not committed to making future payments.

“People shouldn’t have to wonder each month whether President Trump is going to throw the health care system into chaos and cause premiums to spike. I am looking forward to working with Democrats and Republicans in Congress to protect patients and families from continued uncertainty and higher health care costs as a result of President Trump's sabotage."
