SENATE APPROVES USTR AND TREASURY NOMINATIONS

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth Jr. (R-DE) today announced that the United States Trade Representative and Treasury nominees confirmed by the Committee on Jan. 20, 1999 were approved by the Senate Wednesday evening, April 21, 1999.

• Susan Esserman, to be Deputy United States Trade Representative

• Timothy F. Geithner, to be Under Secretary of the Department of the Treasury for International Affairs

• Gary S. Gensler, to be Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance

• Edwin M. Truman, to be Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs
