Committee Favorably Reports Treasury and Commerce Nominees

The following press release was published by the United States Committee on Finance Ranking Member’s News on July 27, 2000. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Finance Committee today voted to favorably reported out the following nominations:

Robert S. LaRussa to be Under Secretary for International Trade, Department of Commerce;

Jonathan Talisman, Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy, Department of the Treasury;

Ruth M. Thomas to be Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Department of the Treasury; and,

Lisa G. Ross to be Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer, Department of the Treasury.

It is now up to the full Senate to approve the nominations. A vote has not yet been scheduled.
