Sen. Chuck Grassley, Chairman of the Committee on Finance, issued the following commenttoday regarding President Bush’s appointment of Thomas A. Scully to head the Health CareFinancing Administration.
“I look forward to having Tom Scully on the job as the administrator ofHCFA. He will bring a wealth of knowledge to an agency that provides health carefor over 74 million Americans through Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children’sHealth Insurance Program. HCFA also oversees the quality of care delivered innursing homes and hospitals across the country. Strong leadership from the HCFAadministrator is critically important to effective enforcement of the regulationsdesigned to ensure beneficiaries receive high quality care."
