Grassley Comment on Senate Passage of the Victims' Relief Bill

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Nov. 16, 2001. It is reproduced in full below.

Today the Senate passed legislation to provide tax relief to the terrorism victims’ survivors. Sen. Chuck Grassley, ranking Republican of the Committee on Finance, and Sen. Max Baucus, chairman, led the effort to produce the bill. Grassley made the following comment on today’s passage:

“The terrorist attacks left thousands of wives, husbands and children suffering. It’s entirely appropriate to give tax relief to survivors. I hope this eases at least some hardship and worry for the aggrieved."
