Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Committee on Finance, made the following comment on Sen. Tom Daschle’s economic growth plan announced today.
“My goal is to get a strong bipartisan economic growth package that the President can sign.
In the coming weeks, the Finance Committee will focus on many proposals for economic growth, including the one put forward today by Senator Daschle. Since our goal is to provide incentives to create jobs for the short- and long-term, a credible package will need a healthy mix of incentives for investment and consumption. Senator Daschle’s announced plan appears very light on job creation, and very heavy on political theater."
