(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senator Max Baucus released the following statement today regardingthe management changes at KPMG:

"Senate Finance Committee hearings on tax shelters last fall reinforced our concerns that law andaccounting firms have lost sight of their obligations to the public. The work of the tax professionalmust be guided by commitments to professional duty, fair dealing, and honesty. As Ranking Member on the Finance Committee, I will continue to work to ensure that the leaders of the accounting and legal professions take the actions needed to give new vitality to these great traditions."
