This marks the second time we know that the government contractor has been misled. Soit’s time to stop relying on information from troubled transplant centers. The information needsto be verified. Penalties should be determined by the oversight and regulatory bodies, includingstate licensing boards and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services. We’ve got twotransplant centers that have done wrong. The question for my committee is if the federal agencythat’s responsible, either on its own or through its contractor, is doing what should be done todeter and catch the bad actors.
