Wyden Statement on the Eighth Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on March 23, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement to mark the eighth year since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law:

“On the eighth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, the Trump Administration is doing everything in its power to make the president’s proclamation that ‘Obamacare is dead’ come true," Wyden said. “The consequences of Trump and congressional Republicans’ sustained attacks on Americans’ health care will be higher premiums, the return of junk insurance, and wide-spread discrimination against vulnerable people. Instead of taking the country back to the days when health care was reserved for the healthy and wealthy, Trump should be working with Congress to lower families’ costs and secure bedrock consumer protections."
