Wyden Statement on House Passage of the Taxpayer First Act

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on June 10, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement on House passage of the Taxpayer First Act:

“Legislation to modernize the IRS so it better serves taxpayers has been years in the making. The bipartisan Taxpayer First Act contains critical provisions to improve customer service, protect personal data and shield low-income taxpayers from the agency’s problematic private debt collection program. I’m hopeful that the Senate will pass the amended bill as soon as possible."
