Wyden Statement on Supreme Court Decision Not to Expedite Affordable Care Act Lawsuit

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Jan. 21, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement after the Supreme Court declined to expedite its decision on whether to take up the Republican lawsuit to throw out the entire Affordable Care Act, including protections for pre-existing conditions:

“This decision rewards Republicans in their never-ending crusade to rip away pre-existing condition protections from families while leaving Americans with massive uncertainty about the future of their health care," Wyden said. “Americans need to know what’s at stake for their health care: Trump is spreading blatant lies about supporting pre-existing condition protections while his administration is actively pushing to take them away."
