ICYMI: Grassley Discusses Democrats’ Refusal to Negotiate on Stalled Stimulus Legislation

The following press release was published by the United States Committee on Finance Ranking Member’s News on Sept. 17, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) joined Neil Cavuto on Fox Business Network and David Westin on Bloomberg TV to discuss stalled stimulus negotiations and Democrats’ unwillingness to compromise.

“…they think it’s to their political advantage not to do anything. If it’s to their political advantage, then it’s to the people’s disadvantage. And it’s putting politics above the benefit for the American people," Grassley said to Neil Cavuto.

David Westin asked, “What are the chances of getting fiscal stimulus before the election? From 1-100, what would you put it at?"

“Zero. Unless Pelosi decides she needs something," Grassley replied.
