Wyden Statement on Clean Energy Provisions in End-of-Year Tax Package

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Dec. 20, 2020. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement on the clean energy provisions in the end-of-year tax package:

“I am glad to report that the end-of-year spending package includes an agreement I reached with Chairman Neal, Chairman Grassley and Ranking Member Brady to extend and expand tax incentives for clean energy that have been critical in moving us toward a low-carbon economy, and essential to the climate fight. Importantly, the phase downs for wind and solar credits have been delayed. We also successfully secured the permanent extension of a key energy efficiency incentive and expanded credits for offshore wind and waste heat to power technology.

“I hope these extensions serve as a bridge to the comprehensive reform desperately needed to end our dependence on Big Oil and ensure that green jobs are good jobs. I plan to keep at it until America kicks its carbon habit once and for all."
