CHAIRMEN RANGEL AND LEVIN UNVEIL DEMOCRATIC TRADE POLICY – 2PM TODAY

WASHINGTON, DC - House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY), and Trade Subcommittee Chairman Sander Levin (D-MI), will hold a press conference today to unveil the new Democratic trade policy, “A New Trade Policy for America," at 2:00PM in the U.S. Capitol.

The House Democrats’ plan incorporates changes to pending free trade agreements to strengthen provisions pertaining to labor, the environment, access to life-saving drugs and other issues. This proposal is intended to break the current logjam in the Congress and allow for favorable consideration of the proposals.

Today’s announcement is the latest development in a series of discussions on trade policy with key Administration officials and business leaders.
