Congressman Roger Williams, Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, issued a statement on May 4 to recognize National Small Business Week. Williams said the week is an opportunity to honor the contributions of small businesses to the U.S. economy.
National Small Business Week highlights the importance of entrepreneurs and small business owners across the country. The celebration acknowledges their role in driving economic growth and supporting local communities.
"America's small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and National Small Business Week is a special time to celebrate everything they do for us," Williams said. "Under President Trump, Main Street is thriving. We delivered the Working Families Tax Cuts to put hard-earned money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans, and the results are indisputable — businesses are expanding, paychecks are growing, and opportunities are opening up in communities across the country. As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, I couldn't be prouder of what we've accomplished for Main Street, and we're determined to help continue that success."
National Small Business Week runs from May 3 through May 9 this year. For more than six decades, it has been sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a way to recognize entrepreneurs nationwide.
Williams said that under current leadership small businesses have seen continued growth and success. The committee plans to use this week as an opportunity to highlight achievements on Main Street.
