WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) issued the following statement on the swearing-in of Timothy F. Geithner to serve as the next Secretary of the Treasury:
“Secretary Geithner has proven himself to be a smart, dedicated and focused leader, capable of meeting the challenges presented by this economic downturn," said Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY). “I look forward to working with him and the rest of President Obama’s economic team to move our country forward and strengthen economic security for American families and businesses.
