WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) and Subcommittee on Trade Chairman Sander Levin (D-MI) issued the following joint statement today following the “Jobs on Main Street, Customers Around the World: A Positive Trade Agenda for US Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises" Conference held by U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk:

“Expanding U.S. exports is critical to economic growth in the United States, and the opening of closed markets abroad continues to require our attention. We fully support the Administration’s focus on the expansion of exports for small- and medium-sized businesses, which are a key driver of the U.S. economy. We look forward to working with the Administration as part of our joint efforts to support U.S. economic recovery and job creation in the weeks and months ahead."
