Brady Statement on Passage of H.R. 4380, U.S. Manufacturing Enhancement Act of 2010

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on July 28, 2010. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX), today issued the following statement after House passage of H.R. 4380, U.S. Manufacturing Enhancement Act of 2010:

“Two things are very clear: House Republicans don’t consider tariff suspensions to be earmarks, and Democrats - when they choose to - can produce strong, unified support for trade legislation.

“Now that the Democrats have proved they can support a pro-trade bill, I look forward to working with my colleagues to move forward with pending trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea."
