Washington, DC - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) made the following statement on Wednesday in response to passage of the H.J.Res.77, The Debt Ceiling Increase Disapproval Resolution:

“Washington must demonstrate it is serious about ending its ‘spend now and pay later’ ways. Although we took a significant step in the right direction with bipartisan passage of the Budget Control Act, today’s vote sends a clear signal that the House is serious about reducing government spending, paying down the debt and creating a better climate for economic growth and job creation."
