WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) issued the following statement following President Obama’s State of the Union address:

"The President extended his hand to Republicans in Congress and called on us to "just do it" in partnership and with urgency. He laid out a clear and decisive path on jobs and manufacturing, balanced deficit reduction and key new initiatives that Congress must now tackle including immigration reform and gun violence. I am optimistic about the possibility for progress after his clarion call for action and his inspiring description of the role of each of us citizens in his conclusion."
