WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today made the following statement in response to the news that Marilyn Tavenner, the Administrator of CMS, plans to step down next month:

Throughout her service to the American people, Marilyn confronted challenges with thoughtful approach and steady demeanor. Andy Slavitt’s considerable experience at CMS makes him well positioned to build on Marilyn’s many successes and to continue to provide the best possible health care services to the American people."
