Camp, Baucus Statement on President’s Proposal for Tax Reform

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on March 31, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) made the following statement in reaction to President Obama’s comments on tax reform during a speech in Chattanooga, TN.

“We welcome the President’s recognition that our broken, outdated tax code is making it harder for U.S. companies to compete and American families to get ahead. Making the tax code simpler and fairer by closing loopholes and lowering rates for families and employers of all sizes will strengthen our economy, while creating more jobs and higher wages. We look forward to continuing to work with the Administration as well as our colleagues in the House and Senate to simplify the tax code and lower rates for all families and businesses."
