Congressman Roger Williams, Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, announced on Apr. 13 that Sean Dillon will serve as the new Staff Director for the committee during the 119th Congress.

The appointment is seen as significant for shaping small business policy in Congress. The role of Staff Director is central to guiding legislative efforts and supporting initiatives aimed at assisting small businesses across the country.

“Sean brings a deep understanding of economic policy and years of experience both on Capitol Hill and at the Treasury Department,” said Chairman Williams. “His proven leadership and strong grasp of the issues affecting small businesses make him well-suited to serve as Staff Director of the Committee. I’m proud to welcome him back to my team and confident he will play a critical role in advancing our America First agenda to support Main Street.”

Dillon most recently worked as Deputy Chief of Staff in Representative Huizenga’s office. He also spent two years at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Financial Research, where he was Senior Advisor to the Director and acted as Principal Liaison for Congress while leading representation on the Financial Stability Oversight Council. Previously, Dillon served fifteen years in various legislative roles on Capitol Hill, focusing on financial services issues, including work with Congresswoman Ann Wagner and earlier service as Legislative Director for Chairman Williams from 2013 to 2017.

Observers may look toward how Dillon's experience will influence upcoming legislative priorities within the committee.
