Levin Statement on Release of TPP Text

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Nov. 5, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today issued the following statement after the Administration publicly released the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement:

“TPP will impact our nation’s economy, the lives of working families, and the shape of globalization. It is vital that we use this 90-day review period - established for the very purpose of evaluating the agreement before the President signs it - to dig into the details and engage in a vigorous back-and-forth. Ways and Means Democrats are taking the lead and setting up hearings and forums to review the merits, and the impact of each of the key issues."
