Brady Welcomes Newest Republican Member of the Ways and Means Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) today released the following statement after the House Steering Committee recommended Rep. Mike Bishop (R-MI) to serve on the Ways and Means Committee:

“I’m thrilled to welcome Mike as the newest Republican Member of our Committee. After serving in his state legislature for over a decade, Mike came to Congress to continue serving the workers, families, students, and small business owners of Michigan. He is a fantastic addition to our team because he works hard, understands our issues, and is committed to solving real problems. As our Committee moves forward with our pro-growth agenda, I look forward to having Mike’s valuable perspective on issues that affect the lives of his constituents in the 8th district of Michigan and all Americans."

Background:

The House Steering Committee is responsible for recommending Members to serve on standing Committees in the House of Representatives. The recommendations are subject to approval by the House Republican Conference.
