Key Points:

-The Administration has distributed nearly $2 billion to Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded health centers.

- “Health centers are a first line of defense, as they are testing for coronavirus and delivering high-quality primary care to our nation’s most vulnerable populations," HRSA Administrator Tom Engels said.

-These funds are helping frontline workers at community-based health centers continue to put full pressure on the novel coronavirus and flatten the curve.

Details:

Recently, HRSA issued another round of funding totaling nearly $583 million to 1,385 HRSA-funded health centers. These dollars, appropriated by Congress as part of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, will be used to expand:

* Testing - including the expansion of walk-up and drive-up testing capabilities;

* Purchases of personal protective equipment (PPE);

* Training of new medical and support staff; and

* Outreach.

Award recipients- which include providers in all fifty states and eight U.S. territories- can be found here.
