SPRINGFIELD, MA - Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after President-elect Biden chose Ways and Means Director of Outreach and Member Services, Lee Slater, to serve as Special Assistant to the President and House Legislative Affairs Liaison:
“Lee will be a terrific addition to President-elect Biden’s legislative affairs team. He has been a valued member of the Ways and Means staff who lawmakers both on and off the Committee turn to for guidance. I greatly appreciate his years of hard work ensuring critical tax, health care, and pro-worker legislation pass Congress and become law. While I’m thrilled Lee will have this new opportunity to serve in government, his advancement is a real loss for the Ways and Means team. I wish him the best of luck and look forward to working with him in his new role as we seek to build our nation back better in the coming months and years."
