Neal (D-MA) released the following statement regarding the departure of Deputy Staff Director of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health Dr. Melanie A. Egorin, who has been confirmed by the Senate to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services:
“Melanie Egorin has been an esteemed member of the Ways and Means Committee, who has worked tirelessly to ensure all Americans have access to affordable, quality health care. Even as she awaited her confirmation, Melanie has been fighting to make the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Affordable Care Act tax credits permanent.
“I am grateful for all that she has given to the Committee and the Congress, and wish her all the best in her continued service on behalf of our nation."
