Neal Marks One Year Since House Passage of the American Rescue Plan

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Feb. 27. It is reproduced in full below.

SPRINGFIELD, MA- Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement marking the first anniversary of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) passing the House of Representatives:

“In the year since the House passed the American Rescue Plan, our nation has defied expectations -millions of jobs have been created, most eligible Americans are vaccinated, and life is getting back to normal, even in the face of ongoing health challenges. The bold, comprehensive action by congressional Democrats and President Biden in the American Rescue Plan made this rebound possible. From the stimulus payments and unemployment insurance that kept families afloat to the expanded access to health coverage that kept people healthy, our work was transformational and changed the course of the nation’s recovery.

“We must continue this progress, and keep building back better for a healthier, more prosperous, and more sustainable future."
