March 18, 2022 - Blog - Health - Press Releases

Ways and Means Republican Leader Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) and top Republican for the Health Subcommittee Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) will host a meeting entitled “Cures and Coverage: A Chilling Precedent for Patients" on Tuesday, March 22, at 2:30 PM ET.

The meeting will address how, by pushing for new restrictions on FDA-approved drugs, the Biden Administration is pushing for harmful policies that would prohibit treatment of more than 6 million American families suffering from Alzheimer’s, including those with other neurological or medical conditions such as Down Syndrome.

Democrats need to give up on their partisan Fewer Cures agenda and work with Republicans on bipartisan solutions that lower drug costs and lead to new medicines and cures that are even more effective.

WITNESSES:

Harry Johns, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association

Duane Schulthess, CEO of Vital Transformation

Tom Mathhersm CEO of Allievex Corporation

This meeting will take place remotely via Cisco WebEx video conferencing.

Members of the public may view the meeting via live webcast available on the Ways and Means Committee Republicans YouTube page HERE.
