U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Arrests Homicide Fugititve in York

Harrisburg, PA - Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Christian Galarza-Rodriguez, a 37-year-old York Man.

On Oct. 3, 2021, at about 5:35 p.m., the York City Police Department investigated a shooting in the 200 block of East Poplar Street. As a result of their investigation detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Galarza-Rodriguez with Criminal Homicide. Attempts to find him were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today at about 11:30 a.m., members of the fugitive task force arrested Galarza-Rodriguez without incident in the 300 block of East Cottage Place, York. He was turned over to the York County Sheriff’s Office Central Booking Unit for processing and arraignment.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that members of the affected communities will find some measure of comfort knowing this suspect will face justice."

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 22 state, county, and local police agencies - including the York City Police Department, the York County District Attorney’s Office, the York County Sheriff’s Office, the Northern York County Regional Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, and the Spring Garden Township Police Department - all of whom participated in this investigation.
