The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation recently appointed Cathy Wise as the new construction engineer for the Willows Construction Office in the California Great-Basin Region.
According to a May 10 news release, in her new role, Wise will be responsible for managing the region’s construction program and managing all the major infrastructure projects throughout southern Oregon, western Nevada and central and northern California.
“Cathy brings a wealth of experience to this position; she has been with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers since 2003, overseeing a multitude of complex projects to completion," Regional Director Ernest Conant said in the release. "We are looking forward to Cathy’s leadership and expertise in guiding our region through the development and construction of the many infrastructure projects facing the region over the next decade.”
In a May 10 Twitter post, the Bureau wrote: "Congratulations to Cathy Wise — our new Construction Engineer, responsible for managing CGB Region’s construction program & major infrastructure projects throughout southern Oregon, western Nevada, and central and northern California."
In her most recent previous position, Wise served as the deputy chief of the Mega Projects Center and program manager of the Department of Veterans Affairs Branch with the Corps’ Sacramento District for the last five years, according to the release. She holds a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from California State University, Chico.
