Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued this statement in response to the U.S. Special Operations mission that killed key ISIS leader Abu Sayyaf and captured his wife, Umm Sayyaf.
“Congratulations to all of our military personnel involved in this dangerous mission. Once again, they demonstrated why our military is the finest fighting force on the planet. Thanks to their gutsy mission, a key ISIS leader who directed the group’s financing is out of the game and another terrorist has been captured. U.S. forces must now use the intelligence captured at the terrorist compound in Syria and gathered from Umm Sayyaf to keep hitting this deadly and savage enemy.".
